It brings me great joy that this episode ended exactly the way I wanted it to end.

Man you guys keep ragging on Shia from his transformers time he is a much better actor these days! Fun episode tho.

When he isn’t plagiarizing Daniel Clowes, sure.

You can’t judge Shia on the bases of petty human morality! Shia transcends such trivialities. Where does the Art begin and the Labeouf end? no one can say.

Just started listening to the episode, but I do believe that “bessim” game is “BESM”, Big Eyes, Small Mouth from the now-defunct Guardians of Order. Heavily based on anime, but it’s a lot like Silver Age Sentinels and the free, completely generic version, Tri-Stat dX. Never had a chance to play, but sounds like SO much fun.

Yeah I looked it up after the show. I had never heard it said that way which is crazy because it seems really common.

    Just, DO IT!

BESM = Big Eyes, Small Mouth. A RPG system based on Japanese Anime (as opposed to say German anime…). They have a number of sourcebooks for games like Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyu, etc.

    Brilliant episode. All the wins!

This episode is among the best things I have ever heard, behind the actual song, of course, and Shia’s appearance at the end of the video for it.

“It’s okay…we’re not filming right now…this is lunch.” SO WIN!

This is it. This is Tropic Thunder the roleplaying game.

The more I think about it, the more I think that “actors that do not realize they are in a movie anymore and instead are probably about to die” might be a genre, or at least a sub-genre.

Listening to this episode has left me with a BURNING NEED to run “Actual Cannibal Shia Lebouf” for my regular Thursday night crew, and make them PC as THEMSELVES and use the setting of WHERE WE ARE. I think that might actually swing the pendulum from comedy towards horror.

Before I heard this, I completely did not understand why anyone would ever listen to an Actual Play podcast.
