    The “salt” one is actually really cool because Martian soil is actually really really caustic due to having perchlorates in it, which is a type of salt that is highly acidic. This would also be the main source of water, because perchlorate brine is the only liquid water on Mars. So the colony probably has to deal with salt contaminating their water and killing their plants unless removed.

    I just had a thought about the whole “belly of a whale” thing: if they were to stay isolated and terraform/colonize the whole planet and build large cities, I could see that becoming their term for downtown. The whole “noise and bustle we face in the belly of the whale” thing totally made me think of cities.

    Geppetto is really reminding me of Trump. His mannerism of speaking, especially when he’s talking about meeting with the oracle, everyone being equal, and the 100% employment rate. Kinda creepy!
