Though it seems our brave samurai may never hve the information they need to find the truth about the damming of the river tensions rage on. The Spiders refuse to bend and are intent on keeping their new land. The Crabs have kidnapped and beaten two spiders within an inch of their lives. To make matters worse the diamyo of the Crab has enlisted Mirimoto Kumo as a second in waht seems an inevitable duel Diagotzu Jin. Time is running out and a war rages just beneath the surface of civility.

That was an awesome time GMing for you guys. Even knowing the outcome I was still biting my nails as I listened to the finale put out.

You all are true master roleplayers.

The last few minutes of this inTENSE. It’s absolutely magical when you can get players invested in a game this much, and for it to all come down to a single die roll?\

Awesome series guys, I really loved this series and I hope Jim will return for another episode (Lo5R or otherwise) some time.

Only about an hour into the episode, but I just love how James is sick of the bullcrap and is doing the samurai equivalent of “Seriously, guys, the the eff?”

Also, cudos to Cards Against Humanity for not running an ad!

    1. JustPlainJim says:

Shoulda been “what the eff”. Typing on phones is tough. 😛

  7. Bluebogle says:

I just got around to listening to this whole series. I’m a long time L5R player (CCG) and this has me extremely inspired to get an rpg game going. Sure, I cringed every time Morimoto was said instead of Mirumoto, or when the Dragon character was played more like a Crane for half the adventure, or even when calling 2 crab samurai “crabs” instead of “those crab,” but that was my own pedantry. Heck, at one point I remember trying to yell through my speakers to tell the players not to leave a giant Oni bleeding out in a river haha. But for a GM to drop 3 players into a setting they know little about and have it come out like it did was a real feat. I liked that he waited until you guys were really lost before he started grabbing the reins a little in the interest of the game. It was fun listening to a GM trying to make his players wrestle their way out of quicksand. Well done all around. Truly inspiring.
